Issue 456: Screen blanking by Xorg on Debian/LXDE rootfs

Reported by Nikolaus Schaller, Jul 21, 2013

The screen is blanked after a while by the X-Server and is unblanked
after tapping any key or the touch.

We can see that the panel driver is going to suspend and is waked
up.

There is a strange difference between the Squeeze and the Wheezy
rootfs: in the latter, the backlight isn't turned off automatically,
while it was on Squeeze.

Even when using exactly the same kernel binary.

So it might also be a config difference of the Xorg.

Comment 1 by Nikolaus Schaller, Oct 24, 2015

this appears to be related to /sys/class/backlight. If there is a
proper device, X-Server will control it.
Appears to work now with 4.3-rc6 and Jessie.
