Description how to solder the connectors for a BeagleBoard XM

Unpack

NOTE: there are more components in the than you need for the BeagleBoard XM since it already has 2.54 mm and 1.27 mm sockets. The spare parts are required for the BeagleBoard C series.

components

prepare 1.27 mm connectors

insert into board

IMPORTANT: the header is sitting between the BB-XM socket and the socket soldered to the Openmoko Beagle Hybrid! The 2.54 mm header is soldered to the Openmoko Beagle Hybrid.

trim overlong pins (could short circuit with backplane of LCM)

solder at corner and align

solder all pins and trim overlong pins

add GND connector tabs and double-sided tape

connect display

NOTE: these photos are for a Openmoko Beagle Hybrid to be connected to a BeagleBoard C4 which needs slightly different mounting of the connectors.
