We have an IR module and it appears to work (at least when being 
tested through U-Boot).

What we need is a proper driver. AFAIK there is nothing for the 
OMAP3 in the Kernel which directly supports the IrDA hardware of 
UART3.

And there was some discussion a while ago on the gta04-owner list 
how IrDA could be implemented (isn't that easy for some reason I 
don't remember exactly).
